Gas Main Extension Policy
Humboldt Utilities Gas Main Extension Policy
Humboldt Utilities will extend gas mains within the city limits or recently annexed areas at no expense to the home owner or developer. This includes new subdivisions within the city limits.
Rural development outside the city limits of Humboldt may also be serviced by Humboldt Utilities, if the development is considered to be economically feasible. The development must be within our service territory and not conflict with other utility companies.
Gas main extentions to single family dwellings or commercial buildings outside the city limits will be considered on an individual basis. The general rule will be, up to 500 feet per customer installed at Humboldt Utilities expense. Developers or home owners requesting greater than 500 foot extentions may be charged $3.00 per foot for additional footage. Humboldt Utilities may elect to dismiss this charge if the main extention provides sufficient value to our existing system.
